Hello,

I've been trying a portable version of Syncdocs for a while and have some difficulties with sync - not all the files are being synchronized properly (when I add new files to my Drive they are sometimes not downloaded to the laptop with portable Syncdocs app running (no matter what I try)). I wonder if this could be due to the fact the root folder being synchronized cantains over 3.000 files and I run an unregistered copy of the Syncdocs app at the moment. Some files get downloaded but others don't (it seems like the app doesn't get correct info from Google about all the files changed/created).

I'm considering buying your application (because it is currently the only software I'm aware of capable of syncing Google Drive data from within a portable application) but I'd like to know in advance:
- is a download of a portable version included when I purchase the full, registered version? (note, I don't need the app on an USB stick, I just need to run it on a system I don't have rights to install any new software...)
- do you think the sync problems I briefly described above would be solved by running the full, registered version of SyncDocs?

Hello

After re-organizing the whole file structure in our cloud, i re-installed fresh syncdocs.
I set a new Google Docs File Location and for testing reasons i selected only 1 folder to sync. But instead to download only the folder, syncdocs downloads folder and files from somewhere else!!!

After the sync process i can see a lot of deleted or files from the old file structure insiede the google drive folder location!!! This is really strange.The option "Sync new files and folders...." is selected but "Sync files in top level...." isn't!!!

I tested all this with an other notebook and the problem is still the same.

I noticed something that maybe it can provoque this problem. After syncdocs installation and selection of the folder i wanted to sync, all other boxes was deselected incl. the "Shared with me" box.
Under "Shared with me" was all correct. Buuuut.... after syncing i opened preferences again to check the selection and suddenly was some boxes (folders) selected, that never appeared before!!!! After deselecting it, the sync process going well. The biggest thing is, that i can't find the folders or files in my cloud under "shared with me"!!!! It's magic... haha

I hope, you can help to solve my problem because we use syncdocs in our company and with this problem, we can't work with it!!!

We are happy to announce Syncdocs 6.851. It is a minor compatibility update.

List of changes and improvements:
1. Fixes to stay up to date with new Google features:
a. newest Google Drive API used
b. Google has dropped support for .kmz and .kml map export via drive. Maps stored in Drive are now saved as .gmap link files. If you are storing Google Maps via Google Drive, then you will need this update.
c. Advanced sharing via the context menu again shows the Google advanced sharing options.
2. More detailed error reporting when user does not have permissions to mirror file deletions to Google Drive.

How to Update
The upgrade is free and will happen automatically. The old Syncdocs version should ask if you want to update automatically in the next few days.

To update now, right click on the Syncdocs taskbar icon, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> “Check for Updates”.

You can also download the new version and install it over the old one.

The 64 bit and portable (USB memory stick) versions are also updated to the latest version and can also be downloaded from http://www.syncdocs.com/download-syncdocs
The generic portable version now contains both 32 bit and 64 bit .exe files.

Hi,

I'm using the trial version of Syncdocs and plan on purchasing several licenses, but first I would like to know if the few issues I'm having can be resolved:

1. Before trying Syncdocs, I performed a sync with the Google Drive application and everything was synchronised successfully. Upon using Syncdocs for the first time, it discovered about 2.8GB of unsynchronised data (most were duplicate photos, but not all) and uploaded it - not sure why there was a mismatch in data there.

2. Photos that have been downloaded from the Google Photos directory since using Syncdocs are all exactly 219 bytes in size, have no thumbnail picture, and are not recognised as a picture. Is there a known issue with Google Photos?

3. The root directory of my Google Drive is filled with approximately 915 files of 1 byte in size (which were not there before using Syncdocs). Some appear to have the same file name as other files in my Google Drive, and others are .png files with extremely long file names of gibberish - "^A9B9AISUDHHHIU4987SDA9SD889AS8D6F6AD14E42F63D99898A^pwin10_80_ddasddda2-abf5-234f-asd1-57bdddaw4tgdfg_distr.png" for example

If these issues have an answer, I would love to know!

Hi,

this morning one of our Syncdocs customers complained of all their synced files arriving with size 1Kb. I have verified that this is happening, and here is what the 1Kb consists of:

Since a bit more than a week I have this problem: A file that I change every day is not synced on one of my PCs anymore. Instead of the real file showing up, I get one .sdtmp file and one .sdbak file. These files are not on GDrive, only on that one PC. Online, I see the correct file.

What I have done so far, is downloading the file to a different directory, rename it and move it to the correct directory. This file will be synced. At home I work on it, and the next day in the office I have the same problem again.

Today I installed the latest version, 6.862. Made no difference. (nb. Why is there no update notice or at least a manual way to check for updates?)

My Syncdocs has been stuck on "Querying new Google documents (item 1400)" since 11/22/2016 07:41:03. It is, as I write this, 11/24/2016 09:33:33 and it is still stuck. I have logged out and logged back in again multiple times, and have rebooted the computer as well. Nothing seems to change - Syncdocs just sits there in a loop of initializing, querying new docs (counts up to 1400 by increments of a few hundred), timing out, starting over.

The log doesn't have anything in it that means anything to me. Here's an excerpt:

It's basically just that same error message over and over. I have about 4100 documents being synced, and I have checked to ensure that nothing is over the 255-character path name length limit (the longest path is about half that size).

This is not a new installation; I have had Syncdocs on this computer, syncing these files to this Google account, for a few years now without issue.

Google Drive through the browser from this same system works just fine.

I just had to completely uninstall and re-install SyncDocs. Got everything running just fine except encrypted files. The encrypted folder is a shared folder. SyncDocs recognizes that, but won't download any files because it (apparently) doesn't have the right password. The UI for encryption passwords is very confusing, sorry. It's asking for an old password and a new password. I just want to specify THE password -- I still know it. Please tell me how to just simply specify the password.

Hi,
Just checked Syncdocs and it doesn't appear to have synced for about 1 week.

I've tried restarting the PC but still no joy.

In the log file I am seeing lots of:

Hello, I handle the local IT for a company and I recently installed Syncdocs to replace Google Sync. Everything has gone well for about 4 days until today, the user is getting the error "Syncdocs error, sync paused. Main Error: Error while copying content to a stream"

I've searched the forums but cannot find out what is causing this. It has happened twice in about 30 mins.

Please advise

The uplad speed from your software is very slow (200-300 kB per second). If I make an uplad direkt from the google-drive-website it is much faster (2000 kB per second). Sync pereferences are "no limit". What can I / you do?

Google is currently suffering from a service outage affecting Google Drive and Forms.

Files and documents stored locally will be safely backed up with Syncdocs, and syncing will resume when Google fixes the problem.

We are getting lots of sync erros, most are "Could not delete file with ID" while the file owner is not the one that syncs, but the syncing user has write permissions. And then there are Credential problems.

Hi,
I am trying syncdocs on both my personal and business accounts. Till now, I find it a stellar program ad solved some of my problems I had with other programs.

Just now, I find that files showing on my Google Drive are NOT on my local drive.
The folder is owned by my business account. There is a subfolder. Within this folder and a number of files created by some other shared individual. They appear on my business account and on my own google drive but will not download to my local drive.

I created a test file on my local drive, and it is uploaded. I dragged a file to the web google drive, and it syncs with the other google users, but won't download to my local drive.

ALL other folders and files seem to work correctly
I would attach my log, but don't know where it is or how to attach it.

I'm using the portable version on my company's pc because I'm not able to install anything on it. I have full access to my own files on my own network folder. Synching works generally well.
I have checked the checkbox in preferences to also synch deletions etc.

However, I tried deleting files and folders, but they do not synch properly. They keep reappearing, as well as when I move a folder to another folder the old folder reappears. The moved folder synchs well.

What can I do to have syncdocs sync properly?
